Frequently asked questions
What subjects do you teach?
We offer tuition in Mathematics and my partner offers English.
What age groups do you support?
I support students from primary school (ages 4–12) through to secondary school (ages 12–16), including exam preparation and confidence building at all stages.
Do you offer one-to-one tuition?
Yes. One-to-one tuition is available and is highly personalised to the student’s needs, pace, and learning style. Group sessions are also offered when appropriate.
Are the practice tests interactive?
The practice tests are generated rather than interactive, allowing students to access unlimited, varied questions tailored to their current focus.
This approach ensures students practise exactly what they need, without repetition or confusion.
How do students know what to practise each week?
Students who attend tuition receive clear weekly guidance on the topics to focus on, the tests to complete, and how to practise effectively at home — keeping learning structured and purposeful.
Those not enrolled in tuition can still benefit from our resources, which are carefully organised by topic and learning need to support independent practice and improvement.
How quickly can my child make progress?
Progress depends on the student’s starting point and commitment.
Many students catch up with the curriculum within 3–4 months, while others move ahead of their year group, building strong long-term understanding.
Is your teaching exam-focused or concept-focused?
Both.
Lessons focus on deep understanding of mathematical concepts so knowledge lasts for life — while also preparing students to apply those skills confidently in exams.
Do you offer both online and in-person lessons?
Yes! We offer face-to-face sessions locally and online lessons using interactive whiteboard for an engaging and effective learning experience.
How do I pay for my course?
Payment methods and details will be discussed following a 45-minute assessment session. Tuition fees are to be paid in advance in blocks of 4 weeks.
How long is each lesson?
Each lesson is one hour long, whether delivered as a one-to-one session or a small group class, and typically takes place once per week.
For students attending two sessions per week, each session lasts 45 minutes, allowing for more frequent practice while maintaining focus and effectiveness.
What does the assessment include?
The 45-minute assessment is designed to evaluate the student’s current level and identify areas for improvement through a set of level-appropriate questions.
What happens if I miss a class?
Can I switch between group and individual classes?
Yes, you can switch from group to individual classes if group learning doesn’t suit your child. We’re happy to adjust your tuition plan to fit your child’s learning preferences and availability.
Do I need to pay for resources?
No — all learning resources are provided free of charge. This includes downloadable PDFs and regularly generated practice tests designed to support consistent progress and reinforce learning at home. If you find the resources helpful, the greatest support you can offer is to recommend our services to others, helping more students benefit from high-quality maths support.
